History

In a very real way, The Sudbury Companies, as currently configured, has been in the making for 35 years. It is the result of an evolution that began when Ed Freedlender opened his first company while he was still a student at Boston College. This fledgling land he discovered that doing good work for people was as rewarding as earning money for doing so.

It was not long until Ed added interior and the seeds of what was to become The Sudbury Companies had been firmly planted.
In order to provide nothing but excellence in quality of work as well as customer experience, Ed Freedlender found a mentor who was a 40 year home improvement construction veteran. Ed’s mentor trained him in all aspects of whole house renovation, from framing and responding to his customers in a timely manner, are just as important as doing great work.
Along the way, the Freedlenders found that they had a particular fondness for kitchen and turning them into traditional colonials.

Over the last 5 to 10 years, the Freedlenders have seen their business come full circle. Customers began to request whole house remodeling projects that included everything from the inside to the outside. Projects began to include hardscape, stone patios, stone walkways, stone walls, and products The Sudbury Companies offer their customers.
The core team that The Sudbury Companies has assembled, has been 25 years in the making.
